”The Festival of Surrey Life”
This Weekend’s Largest Free Community Royal Wedding Celebration The Fox Revived in Norwood Hill is hosting “The Festival of Surrey Life” this weekend, a unique celebration of both The Royal Wedding and the social life within our county.
It all starts at 10.30 am with the event being opened by Sir Paul Beresford MP together with Head Cllr Northcott, The Mayor of Horley Simon Marshall, Helen Clack from Surrey County Council, Richard Parker Chairman Charlwood Parish Council and Nicholas Owen ITV’s former Royal Correspondent .
The Royal Wedding is set to be shown on two large TV Screens and will be followed by a weekend of dancing, theatre, music and fun for the whole family.
From nail bars to paintballing, with birds of prey, dog agility, clog dancing, old school garden fete games and many local retails coming along, there promises to be fun for everyone and all ages.
There will be Live Music every evening, along with Real Ales from Dark Star, Surrey Hills Brewery and Hogsback of course, the BBQ will be fired up all through the event and we will be serving as normal inside.
You can even try your arm at the Ancient Surrey game of “Apple hurling” and see if you will be crowned the world champion at the closing ceremony – with your prize being presented by Phil Tuffnel on Monday.
A tremendous amount of effort has gone in to making Surrey’s largest community Royal Wedding event one to remember – not to mention the support from our sponsors “Hart, Scales and Hodges”, “Team Frames Trade”, “Surrey Life” and “Surrey Hills” and all our other contributors, who have been brilliant from the outset, so please come along and join in the fun.
We are still able to accommodate more individuals and groups with talent who would like to perform. so feel free to get in touch if you would like to be involved.
We would be so grateful if you were to email this on to any friends, relatives or colleagues who you might think would enjoy coming along to join us.
